Na Phrintisigh, the latest documentary series from GaelMedia, is currently in pre-production.
Na Phrintisigh will be a 6-part series, following Apprentices - each at a different stage of their apprenticeship journey - over the course of a year, and covering an array of different trades.
Each programme will focus on a specific apprentice and their trade, their aspirations, and employment opportunities. The series will also ask if they plan to stay in Ireland or go abroad; if they will start their own business, and what their family and social life is like outside of apprenticeship.
Peppered throughout will be valuable information on various trades - both traditional and the new and modern apprenticeships in this ever-growing area; how to join an apprenticeship; apprenticeship durations; what to expect at the end of an apprenticeship term; and stories of apprenticeships from days gone by.
Apprenticeships have been on the back burner for many years, but are once again an important and valued asset to all areas of business in this country - all of which will be explored in this first series of Na Phrintisigh.
Glór Tíre, the longest-running and most successful Country Music series on Irish television, will celebrate 21 years on air in 2025.
TG4’s hit show, produced by Gael Media, is widely regarded as the premier platform for new and emerging Country and Irish talent, and as essential to the lifeblood of the genre.
Presented by Aoife Ní Thuairsig, with resident judges Jó Ní Chéide of RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta and Caitriona Ní Shuilleabháin the show has launched the careers of such recent winners as Aishling Rafferty, Seán Fahy, and 2024 winner Jason McCahill. Past Glór Tíre entrants, particularly Lisa McHugh, Emma Donohue, and John Rafferty, have also gone on to enjoy great success.
As well as attracting new talent, Glór Tíre is the place to see Ireland’s biggest Country Music stars. In each series, established performers act as Mentors to the contestants, guiding the hopefuls on their Glór Tíre journey. Among the series mentors have been Irish Country icons such as Michael English, Louise Morrissey, Mike Denver, Claudia Buckley, and Robert Mizzell.
Auditions for the milestone 21st series will open soon, so Ireland’s next generation of aspiring Country Music stars should apply HERE.

For close to 60 years, the Mary from Dungloe festival has been a celebration of Irish traditional music and culture, as well as of the people of Donegal and its diaspora.
The 2023 Mary from Dungloe Crowning Cabaret Event was live-streamed by Gael Media for TG4 - Ireland’s national Irish language TV station, and this July, Gael Media will return to Donegal to stream the 2024 Mary from Dungloe Crowning Cabaret Event for TG4.
Expect live music and trad sessions, snapshots of the annual parade, the crowning of the 2024 Mary from Dungloe, all the bustle and energy of an Irish summer festival, and, no doubt, hosted by the great Daniel O’Donnell himself.
